Embassy
Diplomatic relations between Uganda and Norway were established on 21.07.1964. Uganda became one of the first main partners for Norwegian development cooperation at the time. Diplomatic relations between the two countries were severed in 1973, during Idi Amin’s rule. They were re-established in the latter half of the 1980’s, when the political situation in Uganda changed. Since 1996, Norway has had an ambassador resident in Kampala. The embassy is located in Nakasero. The Norwegian Ambassador to Uganda is also accredited to Rwanda and Burundi.
