Schengen Visas for Iceland

Please note that applicants have to present themselves personally at the Embassy with their passport valid at least 3 months after the expiry of the visa period. Processing of applications takes a minimum of 15 calendar days. If the application has to be forwarded to Icelandic Directorate of Immigration, the process usually takes a minimum of 30 days. A visa application fee of 210.000 Ugandan shillings is to be paid at a Standard Chartered Bank branch before submitting the application. The fee shall be paid at least one day before submitting the application. When submitting the application you have to present the bank receipt.

 

 

Below is the list of required documents: When handing in the application documents should be arranged in the order stated below and there should be one identical copy of all documents arranged separately in the same order.

 

PLEASE NOTE:

·         Travel Health Insurance (minimum cover for medical treatment and repatriation is 30.000 EUR and valid for all Schengen countries) list of accepted insurance companies is posted in Embassy
Please note that with effect from the 6th of April 2010, applicants will be requested to submit their insurance along with their application forms. The insurance should cover the applicant’s stay in the Schengen area.

 

Tourist visa with invitation (private/family visits)

 

·         Duly filled and signed application form

·         Two photographs (recent passport size colour picture, taken from the front and with a white background)

·         Duly filled and signed Supplementary Information form
From host in Iceland:

·         Invitation letter stating type of relationship, purpose of visit, period of visit, covering of
expenses for flight ticket and accomodation

·         Payslips and bank statements for the last 4 months

·         Copy of passport

·         In case of family visit: Documentation of relationship, e.g. birth certificate
From applicant:

·         Letter of introduction from employer, organization or school confirming employment and       stating employment period and period of leave

·         Payslips for the last 4 months

·         Bank statements for the last 4 months

·         In case of family visit: Documentation of relationship, e.g. birth certificate

·         Marriage certificate if applicable

·         Birth certificates of children if applicable

·         Flight reservation

·         If applicant is a minor: Parental consent, birth certificate of child, ID of parents

·         Copy of passport including previous visas and valid residence permit for non-Ugandans
                                                                    

 

Tourist visa without invitation

·         Duly filled and signed application form

·         Two photographs (recent passport size colour picture, taken from the front and with a white background)

·         Duly filled and signed Supplementary Information form

·         Letter of introduction from employer, organization or school confirming employment and       stating employment period and period of leave

·         Payslips for the last 4 months

·         Bank statements for the last 4 months

·         Marriage certificate if applicable

·         Birth certificates of children if applicable

·         Hotel reservation

·         Flight reservation

·         Copy of passport including previous visas and valid residence permit for non-Ugandans
                                                 

 

 

Business visa

·         Duly filled and signed application form

·         Two photographs (recent passport size colour picture, taken from the front and with a white background)

·         Duly filled and signed Supplementary Information form

·         Official invitation from business partner, signed and sent to Embassy stating purpose of visit, period of visit, who is covering expenses for flight ticket and accomodation

·         Letter of introduction from company, which should comment on the business relation, purpose of visit, covering of expenses for flight ticket and accomodation

·         Documentation for registration of company/organisation, if self-employed

·         If sponsor is company or private person from Uganda:
   From sponsor: Copy of ID and bank statements of sponsor for last 4 months
   From applicant: Pay slips and bank statements of applicant for last 4 months

·         Hotel reservation

·         Flight reservation

·         Copy of passport including previous visas and valid residence permit for non-Ugandans
                                                                    

 

Please by advised that submitting all required documents is not a guarantee for a visa to be granted and that a visa is no guarantee of access to the Schengen territory. The final decision remains with the Immigration Office at the border. The permission to enter the Schengen territory may depend on the presentation of the original invitation letter and the Travel Health Insurance documents. Tickets or travel insurance paid in advances are not the responsibility of the Embassy in case a visa is not granted.
