Norwegian Business Centre set up in Kampala

Last updated: 24/08/2010 //

Norwegian Business Centre opened its doors in May this year. This is the result of an initiative from The Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise (NHO) to set up an office for Norwegian start-up enterprises in Uganda. Norad and NHO have covered the initial cost, but the companies will be covering the operational cost from 2011. The initiative is closely linked to NHOs private sector program that has promoted business opportunities in Uganda to Norwegian companies since 2003.

At the moment, 5 companies have moved in. These include

Nortura/Uganda Meat Producers Cooperative Union:   developing a life stock program with the purpose of export to the EU. Contact Person: Tracy Hathorn, hathorn@gmail.com

Pride Architects – Affordable housing development. Contact Person: Frithjof  Wiese, fw@prideark.no

Eurotech Bridge/Trace Soft Uganda – Traceability systems for food produce and other products. Contact Person: John Paul Setumba,  jps@tracesoftuganda.com
